An easy and fun worksheet to exercise the indefinite article a/an. It can be used as a vocabulary worksheet, too. I used it with my younger students, but you can also use it with beginners, too.

Indefinite articles A/An are used with a noun and in an adjective+noun word combination. In each task you name the object first, then you add the quality to this object.

In this worksheet, students are asked to use three subjects that they must have previously studied in the same exercise: the use of indefinite articles a and an, the use of this or that and the names of school objects. According to the proximity of the images they have to decide whether it's best to use this or that, and they also have to complete with a/an + the name of the school object.

Students have to choose and write the correct article for the singular food or animal nouns. Either they need to put A before nouns starting with a consonant or they need to put AN before nouns starting with a vowel.

Before doing the worksheet I explain the issue to my students and then do some activities with flashcards to interiorize it, then they do the worksheet.The procedure is very simple, they have to choose between a/an or some and number the correct food in the circle next to the photo, according to the number in the phrase where the food is mentioned.*The font I used is Escolar1, which can be easily found in the Internet, copyright and download free.
