This is an integrated skills lesson based on an article about famous world-wide jokes played on the public by the media. Students discuss what the day means, try to predict the stories from their titles then read to check. There is a focus on a lexical set for jokes and students analyse the meaning of phrasal verbs in the context of the text, then try to use new vocabulary when speaking about their own experiences.
