Airport and Airplane Announcements (B1/B2)

Students do two tasks with announcements. The first one is a matching activity with pictures, and the second one is a true/false exercise. The activities combine airport and airplane announcements. The final activity is a checking in conversation where students fill in the gaps.

Airport Announcement Listening B2/C1

Students listen to 3 audio announcements. They complete gist and detailed listening activities based on those audios. Answer key and direct links provided on second page. This is a great opportunity for learners to listen to a variety of dialects, and fast-paced speech in a noisy environment. Works great for upper intermediate and advanced learners. Enjoy!

Airport Check In Conversation B2 Intermediate

Intermediate students listen to a long conversation between a passenger and a check in assistant. In the first task, they answer multiple choice questions, and in the second task they answer true or false questions (with an option for 'doesn't say'). Each activity is graded out of 6. The tracks should be played twice for each exercise.

Airport Girl ( French A1) with personal dictionary

French for adults to initiate airport vocabulary. Listening activity. Fill in the blanks. Includes the link to the song and a personal dictionary where students can start to keep track of the vocabulary they don't know. It is made for Portuguese speakers but can really easily be adapted.One of the tasks is to come up with a name for the song so it is interesting to do this activity before starting a unit on transportation, traveling or airports.

Airport Problems (B2 Listening Task)

Students listen to a conversation at an airport departure gate where the gate agent is having problems with angry passengers whose flight has been cancelled. Students complete two exercises worth six marks each. The entire worksheet is graded out of 12.

Airport Security Check (Listening B1/B2)

Students listen to a recording of two male passengers going through an airport security check. They complete a true or false exercise first, and after that there is a gap-filling exercise that uses the same audio.

Airport security gates

You can make your students practice the pronouns this, these, that, those in a real life situation. These are two pieces of luggage, one for males and one for females. The students have to role play the situation when there are some problems with your luggage (liquids, metal things or electrical devices in it) at security gates and you have to explain what the content of your luggage is.

Airport Simulation (with 2 different small storylines)

Hallo, ich stelle hier eine kleine "Simulation" auf einem Flughafen zur Verfuegung. Ich habe das Ganze in zwei Seniorenklassen als Gruppenarbeit (jeweils 3-4 Leute pro Gruppe, es ist Material fuer 2 Gruppen vorhanden, natuerlich kann man das Ganze auch mehrfach verwenden fuer mehr Gruppen) durchgefuehrt, es kam sehr gut an. Es werden Konjugation und Zahlen geuebt, die Texte sind von mir selbst verfasst. Einige Ausdruecke in der "Story" muessen eventuell erklaert werden. Ich habe zusaetzlich noch ein "Departures"- Board, gemacht in PowerPoint, gezeigt und die Stationen im Raum verteilt, sowie jeder Gruppe ein "Flugticket" mit den Informationen um ihren Check-in und Gate mit Hilfe der "Departures"-Tafel zu finden, gegeben. Diese beiden Dinge kann ich leider nicht hochladen, da sie urheberrechtsgeschuetztes Material beinhalten. Sicherlich auch mit juengeren Klassen als Senioren durchfuehrbar! Die Loesungen zu den Aufgaben sind dabei.
